How we create and review content
Money decisions affect people's lives, so this site holds its content to a higher standard than a typical blog. This page describes the rules we follow.
Purpose and scope
Everything here is educational. Our goal is to help you understand how extra payments affect a loan and what to ask your lender. We do not give personal financial, legal or tax advice, and we do not recommend specific lenders, banks or financial products.
Who writes and reviews
Content is written and edited by Sergio Ruiz. We may use AI tools to help with drafting, editing and translation. Every page is read, checked and approved by the author before it is published, and the author is responsible for what it says. Numerical examples are never estimated by an AI: they are produced by the site's own calculator, with the inputs shown so you can reproduce them.
Accuracy and sources
- Claims about how loans, penalties or regulations work are checked against primary sources: your loan contract, official regulators and government consumer-protection agencies. We name the source in the text.
- We do not invent statistics, testimonials, reviews or case studies.
- Examples state their assumptions (balance, rate, term, start date, type of extra payment).
- Where practice differs between lenders or countries, we say so instead of presenting one case as universal.
Independence
We do not publish sponsored content, and we receive no payment from lenders, banks or financial companies. There are currently no affiliate links. If this ever changes, it will be disclosed clearly on the pages concerned, and it will not affect the calculations or the conclusions we publish.
Two languages, written for two audiences
The English and Spanish versions are written for their own readers rather than translated word for word. Local details, such as terminology or regulation, can differ between them.
Updates and corrections
- Each page shows a last reviewed date. We review pages at least once a year, and sooner when a rule or a formula changes.
- If you find an error, write to hola@financialaccelerator.net. We verify it, correct it, and note significant corrections on the page.
